Bio
Hello,
Elde Stewart here! Thank you for visiting my site!
I’d like to tell you a little about myself and my photographic
career:
I have been a professional photographer for over 28 years,
handling a wide range of photographic assignments. The
diversity of these projects has given me the specialized
knowledge and skills necessary to excel in several different
areas of photography, both in studio and on location.
In 1978, I opened my own studio in Detroit, launching my professional
career. My work included portraits, model portfolios,
motorcycles, musicians/bands, product, catalogs, and brochures.
In 1984, I joined a large automotive photography studio in
Detroit. Working with the best photographers in this field
led me to become very knowledgeable in studio lighting and
location photography. Recognizing my creative talent,
in 1987 I was promoted and given the opportunity to relocate
and run their Los Angeles studio.
In 1990 I opened Elde Stewart Photography here in Los Angeles.
My lifelong love of music led me to pursue photographing musicians
and bands. As a musician myself, I know exactly what
to look for, be it jazz, blues or rock and roll. In
1993, I became a member of the Jazz Photographers Association
and was elected President from 1997 -1999. I am honored
to have my work published in the Monterey
Jazz Festival book, 40 Legendary Years.
Motorcycles are another one of my passions. I've been
riding Harley's for nearly 40 years. I have photographed
motorcycles for some of the top bike builders and publications
out there today.
I hope this site clearly shows you some of my talent in the
creative world of Traditional / Digital photography.
Enjoy your Look!
